Throughout the Alpine region, the use of dried rosehip peel to prepare a vitamin-rich infusion has a long tradition. Since pure rosehip infusion is rather pale in colour, the rosehip peel used to be roasted briefly on the hot plate of a stove. This gave the infusion a much more intense colour. In the next evolution, the rosehip was mixed with a natural component with a strongly red colour, the hibiscus. The result is a bright red fruit infusion with a full flavour and a slightly sour note due to the hibiscus. This very traditional fruit infusion is a welcome drink at any time of day.
