In the year 1696 John Ray discovered by accident in an English garden a new species of mint leaves: the Peppermint, which soon become very popular due to his high content of menthol. The carefully selected peppermint leaves from certified organic farming are grown in the Mühlvierel / Austria area, which is famous for its traditional cultivation of medicinal and aromatic herbs. In the Arabic’s and North African countries, the consumption of peppermint tea is very high and can be defined as a national beverage (very often taken with a strong addition of sugar). However, also in the European countries the consumption of peppermint is widely spread due to his outstanding fresh taste with a slightly spiced hint. Taken cold, it is a fantastic refreshing and thirst-quenching drink for the whole family.
