Sustainability
Environment and sustainability are and have always been a big issue at VIROPA. The consumption of resources is steadily monitored and wherever possible adjustments are being made to assure a nature friendly production.
The following measures have already been realized:
Green power supply
On the roof of the company building a 100 KWh photovoltaic plant provides enough energy to cover the need of electrical power of the manufacturing unit as well as for the administration sector. The surplus energy gets into the public net.
Investitionen in modernste Maschinen
The machine pool is being steadily renewed with machines of the last generation with low energy consumption. The implementation of the industry 4.0 system focused on a lean manufacturing management helped to save energy.
BIO - Produkte / Regionalität
Wherever possible we rely on precious organic grown raw material. Organic farming goes with the nature, produce less CO2 compared with conventional farming and gives a important contribution to the biodiversity.
Packaging material
Most of the cardboard used for our tea boxes come from FSC® certified estates. This certification guarantees the sustainability of the forest management and that no primary forests are being used. The envelopes of the tea bags are made of paper, the tea filter contains the fibre of the abaca plant, and the string is made of natural cotton. All packaging components are renewable and 100% biodegradable.
